Shorter than a call with your mom.

Just you, and the stories only you know.

You send one link. The family does the talking.

  1. Pick the occasion and the person

Their birthday, or no reason at all. Then their name, or what you call them, like Ammi.

  2. Answer a few questions out loud

A friendly interviewer asks about them, one question at a time. About 5 minutes, never more than 8. Speak English, Spanish, Urdu or Hindi, and mix them if that's how you talk.

    The interviewer

Tell me about a moment that’s just so them.

  3. Add photos and say who's in them

So the book gets everyone's name right. No good photo? Use one of ours for the occasion.

  4. Read it, and change anything

Tap any line to rewrite it, or hold the mic and say what to change. Undo is always there.

  5. Send the private link

On WhatsApp or wherever your family talks. Only people with the link can open the book, and you can turn it off any time.

  1. Pick the occasion and the person

Their birthday, or no reason at all. Then their name, or what you call them.

  2. Send one link to the family chat

Up to 12 people can join. If the birthday girl is in that group, send it to the others one by one, so it stays a surprise.

  3. Everyone adds their voice from their phone

No app, no account. They type their name, pick the language they'll speak and tick one box. Then up to 4 minutes with the interviewer, or a typed message instead, and up to 3 photos.

  4. Do your part, or leave it to them

Do your own interview while they record. Or skip it and let the family do the talking.

  5. See who's done

Names move to Done as people finish. Remind anyone still missing on WhatsApp.

  6. Close it, and the book is made

When you're ready, close it. Minutes later, everyone's stories are one book, with their voices on the Voices pages.

  7. Check it, then send the link

Change any line by tapping it or saying what to change. Then send the private link to the person it's for.

Here's what it will ask.

These are the questions the interviewer asks, in this order. When a story gets good, it asks for more.

Each person in the family answers three, all about the person the book is for.

Speak Urdu or Hindi, and it asks you in Urdu or Hindi.

  1. Tell me about a moment that’s just so them.
  2. What’s something they always say?
  3. What’s a time with them that still makes you laugh?
  4. What have you learned from them?
  5. What’s a day with them you’ll never forget?
  1. What’s your favorite memory with them?
  2. What’s something they always say?
  3. What’s a time with them that still makes you laugh?

And always, at the end:

Is there anything else you’d like to say to them?

About as long as making a coffee.

Your words stay yours.

How we keep it private
  • Only people with the link can open the book. You can turn the link off any time.
  • Each person in the family sees only what they added.
  • We don't train anything on your family's words, and neither do the companies we work with.
  • Delete the book, and its photos, recordings and words go with it.
